Typical steps prior to investment
The typical steps we go through with a new Investment Case are the following.
-
We get contacted by the Entrepreneur (or vice versa), or by one of our partner investors
-
Business Plan presentation by Entrepreneur(s)
-
We work together with the Entrepreneur to refine the Business Plan to something we both believe will make the Company successful
-
We outline the Financing arrangement
-
Open Ocean makes the preliminary Investment Decision
-
Typically, we then review relevant formal Company document and arrangements (like the Share Holder Agreement, Board and Management setup, legal contracts etc), which might require updates, and agree on these changes
-
We close the financing, and become an active shareholder
